Shuttle Bus Instructions

Arrive at Colman Dock (801 Alaskan Way Pier 52 Seattle, WA 98104) by 10:15am.

Getting to Colman Dock:

Do not drive downtown. There is nowhere to park for over 24 hours that won’t cost you as much as your plane ticket to Seattle.

Either take a (Lyft, Uber), take light rail, or make arrangements to have someone drop you off.

Light Rail: Take either line 1 or 2 to Pioneer Square Station.

Use Station Exit C.

Walk downhill along Yesler all the way to the water. You will be at the Ferry Terminal once you cross Alaska Way. This is about four blocks of walking, mostly downhill.

Colman Dock: Do not veer to the left and go to Pier 50. That is where the small passenger ferries and water taxis leave from. Those are not your ferries.

If you enter the terminal from the street level (Alaska Way), go upstairs to the ticket booth. If you enter from the Marion Street Elevated Walkway, you will already be on the correct level.

Purchase tickets at the booth or use a self serve kiosk. Buy one ticket per person to Bainbridge Island (cheaper rates for kids and seniors).

Follow the signs to the Bainbridge waiting area.

Once the ferry departs, you have 30 minutes to take in the sights. Since the shuttle bus will not be making rest stops, please do all your business using the ferry restrooms. We want the bus to get underway as soon as everyone is off the ferry, so please don’t wait until you get to Bainbridge to use the bathroom.

When you exit the ferry, you’ll walk through a long covered walkway. Exiting the walkway, enter the terminal building, turn right, and then exit the building. When you are facing the parking lot, head left past the terminal building and down a small slope to an area where public buses pull through. Our bus will be waiting there with a sign on it that says Wedding Shuttle.

If you take an earlier ferry, you can wait inside the terminal. There is a cafe that serves food, coffee, adult beverages, etc. Go look for the bus at 11am.

If the 10:40 ferry is running late, the shuttle bus will wait until it arrives. But if you miss the 10:40 ferry, you will miss the shuttle, and, after that, there is no way to get to the wedding on time.

If you are taking the shuttle back on Sunday, you must be outside Bldg 246 no later than 1:40pm.

The shuttle will get you to the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal between 3:00-3:30pm. That means you might get on the 3pm (arriving in Seattle at 3:35). Otherwise, you can walk onto the 3:55 ferry (arriving in Seattle at 4:30) or the 4:40 ferry (arriving in Seattle at 5:15).

You do not need to purchase a ticket to walk on to the ferry going towards Seattle (they only charge walk on passengers leaving Seattle). Just walk on and enjoy! The ferry ride is about 35 minutes long.

You will disembark the ferry on the Seattle waterfront.

There is a free shuttle that runs from Pioneer Square, all along the waterfront, over to Seattle Center and back, every 15 minutes, all day. You can get to Pike Place Market if you turn left leaving the ferry and walk along the waterfront to the aquarium and then turn right and head up the big overlook park.

If you are heading to the airport, the light rail is about four blocks away straight up Yesler Street to 3rd and Yesler. You want Line #1 towards Federal Way.
